Don’t Panic Perth
Don’t Panic Perth! Here’s what you need to know about the Building Bonus and HomeBuilder grants on offer for those building a new home.
#1 Its only June 2020 – there is heaps of time to get things underway. Both grants are available to those who sign a new home building  contract by the 31st December 2020. So, you’ve got 6 months to make sure you have everything organised including …
#2 Get your finance sorted – speak with your bank or finance broker and get a finance pre-approval in place so you know exactly what you can spend. Keep in mind that the Federal grant is capped at $750k for house and land.
#3 Source your block of land – there are already stories of people camping out to obtain their block of land. Sure, if you need to, we’d recommend to keep warm & dry. Having a finance pre-approval certainly will put in you in a preferable position, however if the seller is willing, you should be able to place an offer subject to finance. Remember that settlement of the land must allow enough time for the Builder to start on-site works within 3 months of signing the building contract. If you are pressured into signing your contract too early, you may lose your eligibility for the grants.
#4 Choose your builder – of course we would recommend that you contact Activa Homes Group; especially if you are after a quality home and excellent customer service. We will work with you to design an build a custom home that makes the most of your location, lifestyle and budget. As a custom builder, we also have more control over the timing of builds going to site, which means you will avoid the looming bottleneck that is going to be experienced by many of the larger project builders.
#5  Be organised – The more information you have the better. Check your eligibility for each of the Federal HomeBuilder and State Building Bonus grants. You might also be eligible for the First Home Buyer Grant. Speak to your bank, mortgage broker, accountant etc. With the flurry of new home building activity that is about to happen, you need to be patient, persistent and work with those who make your needs a priority.
#6Â DON’T PANIC – our team are here to make your building journey an easy and enjoyable experience!
