Spring Cleaning

Spring is well and truly in the air and it’s that time of year when many of us are preparing our homes to entertain family and friends for the holidays.  It’s when we start these preparations that we maybe come to realise that perhaps we have neglected to keep on top of our home-owners maintenance during the rest of the year.  So, things are perhaps more labour intense and possibly more costly to rectify than the light cleaning we were hoping to do!

Keeping on top of your home-owners maintenance is essential in making sure that your new home stays beautiful in the long term.  Pretty much like our own selves … if we don’t treat ourselves right and do what’s necessary to keep ourselves healthy, we may pay the price later on down the track!  With your home, it’s important to follow manufacturers care instructions to keep everything in top shape and avoid any warranty issues.  Generally keeping your home clean inside and out (don’t forget those gutters coming into fire season!) and servicing or replacing items as needed will keep your home functioning well into the future.

If you’re thinking about building a new home in the future, choosing fixtures and finishes with better product expectancies and warranties may be more costly up front but can save you time and money in the future.  Your home is there to be enjoyed and no one really enjoys cleaning and maintenance.  So, keep your home and wallet in good shape by taking care of it year round.
