With block sizes getting smaller, it’s easy to think that committing to a relationship with a double storey home is the only way to go.  However, staying single does have it’s benefits.  By staying single, you get to spend more of your budget on yourself.  Think higher specifications such as stone benchtops, high ceilings, full height tiling.  By staying single, you may have less rooms overall but if they are just empty spaces that don’t get used much, do you really need them in your life?  And, while staircases may be grand, who really needs all those ups and downs!
